April 8, 2003 : 36 weeks
Well I've had an
interesting few days! Last visit the midwife said to call anytime I was worried
since it's better safe
than sorry. I called her on Wednesday last week since the baby didn't seem to
be moving at all. She said that if I am sick
then the baby feels sick and he won't be as active. I think she assumed my crying
and stuffy nose meant I was sick but I was
just worried and worked up over it. I did have a sore throat but have had that
for weeks and Sebastian still moves so it
couldn't be that. She wanted me to wait awhile and see if he woke up. I read
a Pooh book out loud and magically he kicked
again. I think he likes to hear my voice. Then on Friday we went to the reg
DR for my throat and it's fine and so are my
lungs. The dr surprised me with thinking it's allergies. So later this week
I get a scratch test. Monday I had blood drawn
for that too. Saturday was another call the midwife day. Green stuff came out
of me and the paper said to call right away
if green stuff comes out. So we did and she came to the apartment and checked
me. Thought it could be meconium (baby pooped
already in the fluid) and couldn't be sure so she sent us to the hospital. Was
on a monitor for 30 min and then a dr looked
at me. Very rude mean dr I might add. Just shoved the speculum in there and
it made me cry! We won't know until this coming
weekend what it is.
So back to today!
The midwife said that she was called and told that it wasn't amniotic fluid
or meconium so we still have
to wait to see what it ends up being. Could be an infection, or nothing at all.
I've never had an infection there so I don't
know what it's like. Midwife said it's common to get an infection this far into
a pregnancy so I don't feel like a freak at
least.
Once again my blood
pressure is 120/65! My magic numbers I guess? The student was there again and
she seemed to have learned
something in a week but still kept quiet. I assume it's because her English
isn't so good? I also got to feel the baby's
foot!! It was really cool! I had never felt that before and known what it was!!
When we heard the heartbeat it was going
INSANE! I thought he was having a heart attack! Midwife said it's because he's
moving a lot. I didn't feel him moving a ton,
but he was moving a bit that I could feel. And I asked if he had 'dropped' yet
and she said that he has! YAY! Head locked
in my pelvis and not going anywhere (hopefully). I was just thinking though
that it's likely his hands can't go over his
face in there so he's probably really mad about that!! Every ultrasound we have
had, he loves his hands OVER his face!
Poor baby!
In 2 days I'm 37
weeks and he's considered full term and wouldn't need an incubator or anything
so I'm really happy about
that! But I AM ok if he comes early hehe! Mom is here in about 2 weeks!
