September 11, 2002: 6 weeks

For those of you who didn't know I was pregnant.. Surprise! haha! I hope you already got the card in the mail to some of you but if you didn't.. Sorry I didn't tell you yet!

So anyhow! the round thing you see is NOT the baby, it's the yolk sac... the thing to the left is the baby and you have no idea how happy today was for me!

I went to the DR today with Peter of course! First I had to get weighed and blood pressure and immediately the lady asked if I was nervous and had to do my blood pressure again! haha! I was very nervous but thankfully we were in the city where the US army base is so everyone in this town speaks English.

Then I waited and waited forever it seemed! We had the same DR has I had when I miscarried so at least I wasn't weired out by him looking at me down there.. He doesn't use a gown though.. You keep your bra and shirt on and take the rest off and get in the stirrups.. It was so weird.. He didn't really examine me.. He just did the ultrasound (vaginally....the weirdest feeling ever).. but it was so AWESOME! We saw the baby moving and the heart beating very strong!!! Peter instantly asked if there were 2 heartbeats since he thinks it's twins but it was too early to tell.

MAN that was so great! I was teary eyed in a major way! I thought that big dark area was my uterus but it's the placenta! So the baby is 6wks and 2 days along and was conceived the DAY I got home from the USA and we weren't even trying!!! We gave up and got lucky! It really helped to keep track of everything every month on the calendar though. Shows the DR more. The baby is 0.78 cm in size.. twice the size of the baby I miscarried at 8 weeks.

I don't think anyone can possibly know how happy I AM!
AHHHHH

Then the worst part came.. I had to get BLOOD drawn! first I peed in the cup which was hard since I didn't have to go.. and then they gave me an extra cup since every visit you have to bring pee in. I go again in 4 weeks and I get another ultrasound too! The DR said that we can pretty much have as many ultrasounds as we want but if we want a ton we have to go to a special area and pay for it but it's not expensive really.. and we can even get a video made later on.

So about the blood.. I saw one guy having it drawn and I was like... if he cries I'm gone! Then I went in the room and made Peter explain I'm scared to death and she did it and it didn't really hurt when she put the needle in but it seemed to take forever! She took so much blood! And I could feel the needle the whole time.. But if I thought that hurt... HA! When the needle came out I almost cried.

But it was over and done with! We went grocery shopping right after that.. got a lot of fruits I like and some melba toast and a few other things.. I told the DR about the sickness and he told me I don't have to worry about the baby if I don't eat since I'm not so thin the baby will just cut into my reserves haha... so for lunch I had an apple cut up with caramel on top and it was soooo good!

Peter is the best husband in the whole world. I swear he is! He will get up and get me ANYTHING in an instant and he rubs my back and he's just a sweetie. I'm so glad I married him. AWW now I'm all teary again.. Hormones? haha.

Well I just had to share my day with everyone..

So I'm due sometime between April 26 and May 1... they weren't sure just yet.
